USA Swimming Memberships
The meet's hosted and attended by LMST are all USA Swimming sanctioned swim meets. In order for students to participate in USA Swimming sanctioned swim meets, students must be a current members of USA Swimming.
Premium USA Swimming memberships expire annually on December 31. However, premium memberships that are purchased after September 1 are valid until December 31 of the following year.
USA Swimming Website Registration
Parents must register their students for USA Swimming through their website. As a part of the registration process, payment is required for the registration. LMST families will receive a credit on their Commit accounts for the cost of their student's registrations. Once the registration is complete, please email the receipt of the registration to Parker Craw (parker.craw@linnmar.k12.ia.us) to receive this credit.
USA Swimming Membership Types (Offered by LMST)
Premium ($84) - Membership purchased after September 1st will last until December 31st, 2025. This membership type is popular with swimmers who compete at meets during the Short Course (August-March) and Long Course (April-July) seasons.
Seasonal ($50) - Membership lasts 150 days after purchase. Note: a membership purchased on September 1st, 2024 will only last until January, 29, 2025. Intrasquad and all championships meets are scheduled for February.
Seasonal to Premium Upgrade ($34) - For swimmers whose membership expires during the short course season and want to compete in USA Swimming meets through August 31st, 2025. Note- Families must upgrade before their seasonal membership expires in order to be re-credited. Families are able to purchase another Seasonal or Premium membership after the initial expiration date, but they will not be eligible for reimbursement.
Outreach ($5) - Low cost, year round membership for qualified athletes/families. Families only have to pay $5 for meet entry fees for each child. Only the head coach and club administrator are privy to their club's Outreach membership information, in order to facilitate registration and meet entry at the reduced fee. Creating an account in USA Swimming SWIMS database
Parents must have an account with USA Swimming SWIMS database before they can register their students for USA Swimming. Please following the instructions provided in this handout to create an account with a Login Username and Password.
LMST will only credit one membership per athlete each year (August to July), except for those who upgrade from Seasonal to Premium before their initial Seasonal membership expires.

Students who receive Free or Reduced Lunches should not process their registrations using this link.
USA Swimming App for Deck Pass
If you have an issue with being able to log into the USA Swimming Deck Pass once your account has been created
Do not start the process by clicking on the link provided on the LMST website
+) Go to USASwimming.org before using the link posted on the LMST website
+) From USA Swimming’s homepage, click on the Login icon which located in the top right corner. The login link is the image of a person (circle for a head over a torso of a body)
+) Login using the user name and password previously created
+) Once logged into Deck Pass on USA Swimming's website, open up the LMST webpage and click on the link provided on the USA Swimming registration page
+) The link will lead you back to USA Swimming’s website
Click on start a new registration
Click on the red bar CONTINUE
+) Select: This member is someone other than this logged in user
+) If your swimmer has been registered with USA Swimming in past year, click yes for returning member and then click on the red bar below the picture RENEW MEMBER
- Enter swimmer’s legal first name and last name and along with birth date
- Click on the lower red bar SEARCH FOR MEMBER
- If the swimmer's name appears, click CONTINUE
+) If your swimmer has not been registered with USA Swimming in past year,
- Click yes
- Click yes again so it changes to no
- Click on the red bar below the picture ADD NEW MEMBER
Helpful Notes
Birth Certificates: There is a place where Birth Certificates for swimmers or adults may be uploaded. This is not a requirement and may skipped.
Swimmer Email Addresses: There is a place where email address is asked. Parents may enter their own email addresses for each swimmer they are registered.
Transaction Fee: USA Swimming will asked if you wish to pay for the transaction fee. (Basically, donated $2.76 to USA Swimming) This is optional and you do not have to agree to pay the transaction fee. If you choose to add this to the invoice, it will not be reimbursed to your LMST Team Unify account.
